The Mill was perfectly equipped, with everything you could think of in the kitchen for cooking as a family. The decor and design of the cottage was lovely, very homely and really comfy beds throughout! Our young boys loved the garden and being able to play on the tennis court too.
Overall a very relaxing 5 star holiday cottage in a beautiful peaceful setting.

Many thanks
Jo and Iain Veitch

‘Dear Tim & Gemma,

Just to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Burnfoot recently.
It really is a beautiful location & we appreciated the tranquillity.

We loved the view from the Forge, but probably found the layout of the Hemmel even better.
All of your hard work in developing the cottages is evident, &, we think, very worthwhile.

Thanks again
Hope to visit again at some time – put us on your mailing list.’

Kind regards ,

Kay & Phil Quinby.

‘We have enjoyed a very relaxing weekend in this superbly presented cottage. The standard of the cottage is excellent with some beautiful furnishings to match. The cottages are set in acres of beautiful landscape which give excellent views. There are some great days out at nearby Cragside and Wallington. Would recommend the Newcastle Hotel in Rothbury for Sunday lunch and also a pint or two at The Star Inn just up the road’.

Mr & Mrs Stott (The Hemmel)

‘This is one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in – apart from the wonderful location (we spent hours watching the sun and cloud on Simonside or Cheviot) and abundant bird life, the comfort and facilities of the cottage itself made for a wonderful stay. The beds are fantastic (two of us have bad backs but the mattresses here caused us no problems at all!). Everything is so nicely presented and designed to make one feel at home. The little details such as wooden hangers in the wardrobe, all show an attention to “doing things right”. From the moment we entered we have enjoyed our stay. Thank you!’
Mrs Rankin & Guests (The Mill)

‘Upon arrival – fantastic, everything clean and very welcoming. Beds and linen nice quality – had a good night’s sleep. Lovely location and very quiet. Well equipped. Thank you – will be back hopefully!’

‘We have had an absolutely brilliant holiday and we were very lucky with the weather, which was a bonus. The house definitely lived up to expectations, it was great to have so much space and the view from the bedroom window was spectacular! It was completely restful but we didn’t feel too isolated as Rothbury was in easy reach.

‘We very much enjoyed and made good use of the tennis court and walks for our dog were great. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. All the neighbours were very pleasant and there was absolutely no noise from anyone.

‘Our children had a great time and said it was one of the best holidays they have had (and much prefered to last years trip to Lanzarote!). They enjoyed it so much that they are asking us to book Cheviot View again for next Summer.’

‘Dear Tim and Gemma

We very much enjoyed our stay at Burnfoot this last Autumn half term. Beautiful location and very cosy, well appointed accommodation. We were able to completely relax and enjoy the stunning countryside of Northumberland. The wood burner was a very welcome comfort on those dark and chilly evenings! We felt very welcome and were delighted with our cottage, the perfect place to escape.

King regards’
