This page will help you plan your self catering Burnfoot Holiday Cottages by giving you an idea of what else we provide to ensure that you enjoy a truly relaxing holiday in Northumberland.
For use solely by our guests, there is an acre of lawned grounds and a recently constructed championship tennis court.
There are secure storage racks for bicycles and a range of outdoor play equipment for children, including a climbing frame, swings and slide. As well as feeding the ponies, young imaginations can be fired by the otters, deer, badgers, salmon, owls, kingfishers and many other rare birds that can be seen regularly from the cottages.
Burnfoot is named due to it being where two streams (burns) meet and it is the perfect place for exploration and adventure, but not at the expense of parents' peace of mind. We have three young children ourselves and appreciate their need to challenge themselves in as safe an environment as we can possibly make it. Neither of the streams can be accessed without scaling a wall or a gate, and the children’s play area is located well away from cars entering the farm.
Rest assured that every cottage will have fresh towels, bed linen and tea towels, and all heating and hot water is included. Travel cots and high chairs are available free of charge; just let us know what you require in advance.
As well as the above, Cheviot View, The Mill, The Granary, The Hemmel, The Forge, Jolyn Cottage and West Lodge all have a selection of books, magazines and games, and an information folder bursting with everything you need to know about local inns and restaurants, fishing, golf, horse riding, and all of the other fun activities available close by, not to mention the year-round festivals and markets.
Inside all of the cottages, you will also find washing-up liquid, a new sponge and j-cloth, toilet paper, hand soap, tea, coffee, milk and sugar.
Unlimited free Wi-Fi is available in all cottages (access may not be available in every room due to the thickness of the stone walls).
